Barrington Schools have established a great tradition of excellence. Significant fiscal and academic program challenges are looming for the next several years. Among those areas of challenge I will address in this campaign are: School Budget Management in a state without a fair funding formula; Preparing for the new Secondary School Regulations; Enrichment for all Kids; and Promoting Educator Quality through “Professional Learning Communities.” Underlying all of these initiatives is the maintenance of a safe and healthy learning environment. Consistent with my past philosophy and practice, I believe we can best respond by mobilizing our team of School Committee, administrators, teachers, parents and community members. What is different now is that in order to overcome our most daunting hurdles, we must collaborate with similarly situated communities to secure a fair and predictable State school funding formula.
